Lets get fired up for our guest author who will be visiting our school next week. By now I’ve talked to all of my classes about Gantos’ memoir, Hole in my Life, which I enjoyed reading and recommend for my students to read as well. He begins the book with this epigraph by Oscar Wilde, which becomes an important introduction to his story:
I have learned this:
it is not what one does that is wrong,
but what one becomes
as a consequence of it.
