Stroke of Genius

I wanted to provide a few “visual illusion” links to some of the things we looked at in TOK class today (like the illusion above, which is in fact not an animation, except that our mind creates one).  This website has quite an impressive collection of them. Below I’ve also embedded a link to the video of Neuroanatomist’s Jill Bolte Taylor’s TED Talk about her stroke.  She subsequently wrote a book titled My Stroke of Insight, and she also has a website of the same name that I’ve just begun exploring. The first time I heard about her story was through National Public Radio, so I’ll here is that link as well.


And here is another TED talk by Beau Lotto that we did not have time to watch in class.  His puzzles and “illusions” also help us to see how our brain works by looking at the sense of sight.
