Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

This movie might prove to be a cool bridge between Reason and Emotion as “ways of knowing.”  At the very least, my TOK class gets to see a great Kaufman / Gondry collaboration.  And check out the website for Lacuna Inc.

Whoa, you know what’s funny about this? A couple months ago, when I saw Eternal Sunshine for the first time, I thought, “Dude, Mr. Quale would dig this.”

I do indeed “dig it.” My TOK class, on the other hand, seemed to be generally perplexed and / or frustrated by it. I guess on paper it looked like a good idea–and I still have faith that it will provide us with a nice introduction and reference point for our Emotion Unit.

How happy is the blameless vestal’s lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray’r accepted, and each wish resign’d;

I love that movie! It’s such a coincidence I saw Heather’s comment. I actually watched it again with my friend because of how emotionally deep and poignant it is. I need to watch it again…

On a side note, I love the new website, Mr. Quale! I got excited when I saw articles by “Editing Staff,” and I’m getting a nostalgic rush from browsing around your website. We’re studying intertextuality right now in one of my classes, and it reminded me of Borges and all the other works we analyzed in your class way back when. Fun stuff :)
